Plot to Panel: Mini Graphic Novel Workshop (Session 2) In-Person

Ready to bring your story to life—from first spark to finished page? This fun, hands-on workshop is your chance to create your very own mini graphic novel with the help of some seriously awesome guides.

You'll work directly with Gale Galligan, the bestselling graphic novelist behind The Baby-Sitters Club adaptations, as she walks you through the creative process—from plotting and character development to storyboarding and layout. Each of Gale’s sessions will include a short, engaging lecture, creative exercises, and personalized feedback to help you shape your story.

But that’s not all—you’ll also get extra support between Gale’s sessions! John Bocchichio, Teen Librarian at Pearl River Public Library and former English teacher, will be on hand to help you strengthen your writing, while Fable Culhane will offer guidance and tips to level up your artwork. Whether you're stuck on dialogue or need help with panel design, John and Fable have your back.

We’ll also have art supplies available at the library so you can dive into your project whenever inspiration strikes.

By the end of the workshop, your finished graphic novel will be published in a special library anthology—and yes, you’ll get your very own copy to keep and show off!
