Bake to the Future (1950s) -- Bake Off Cycle Begins In-Person
Get ready for a culinary adventure like no other! In Bake to the Future, teens will journey through different decades, recreating iconic recipes from various eras and bringing them to life in their home kitchens. For our first season, we’ll be exploring the 1950s, challenging participants to bake a dish that represents this vibrant decade.
The bake cycle start date is Thursday, July 31.
This will be an ongoing seasonal program, so get ready to time travel through food again and again as we move through different decades, learning new skills and flavors with each challenge.
At the end of each challenge, teens bring their baked goods to the library, where a panel of judges will taste, evaluate, and rate the dishes. Winners will be chosen based on specific criteria (creativity, presentation, historical accuracy, taste) and will receive an exciting food-related prize to elevate their culinary experience.
The bakeoff judging contest will be on Friday, August 29
This is a chance to learn about history through food, showcase your baking skills, and have a lot of fun while discovering the flavors of the past.
So, gather your ingredients, sharpen those skills, and get ready to time-travel one delicious bite at a time with Bake to the Future!
